Website requests
The hosting service receives connection information needed to deliver pages, such as IP address, request time, requested address and browser information. This supports delivery and technical operation. Actual logging and retention depend on the hosting service used.
Language and approximate region
Without an explicit language choice, server or edge software uses an approximate IP-country value supplied by the host. Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein receive German; other or unknown countries receive English. Country does not establish which language an individual speaks. The application does not persist the country value. On PHP hosting, the server sends the IP address over HTTPS to the external Country service (api.country.is) to obtain its country. Edge hosting instead uses country information from the hosting provider. If the lookup fails, the site uses English.
Selecting DE or EN stores your choice in the “sp_language” cookie for up to one year. It contains only “de” or “en”. An explicitly requested language URL is preserved. Delete the cookie to reset the choice.
Search and external content
Guide searches run in your browser; search terms are not sent to a search provider. Images, fonts and scripts are served locally. The application uses no analytics, advertising or newsletter services and provides no accounts or comments.
If you email us, your sender address, message and attachments are processed through the email services involved so we can handle your enquiry. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
